01 · The Fundamentals

What A Real A/V System Is

Audio-visual done properly is a signal chain, not a pile of boxes. A source — a 4K player, a streamer, a microphone, a laptop — feeds a brain (an AV receiver, amplifier or matrix), which distributes picture and sound to the right screens and speakers, in the right rooms, at the right volume. Get the chain right and a single remote, app or wall panel runs the whole property.

That covers a lot of ground: a home theatre with calibrated surround sound and a projector, a media room, multi-room distributed audio that follows you from kitchen to pool, and conference & meeting-room AV where the display, mics and video call simply work when someone walks in and presses one button.

QSN works three ways: we design and install from scratch, we troubleshoot and rescue existing setups someone else left half-finished or failing, and we maintain it all under an SLA so it keeps working long after install day. Because A/V rides on the same network we engineer for your WiFi and automation, streaming and control stay rock-solid.

02 · Methodology

How QSN Delivers A/V Done Right

A soundbar and a guessed speaker position is not a system. A calibrated signal chain engineered room by room is. Our four-stage workflow is the difference — and it's the same whether we're building new or rescuing what you already have.

01

Survey & Listen

We assess the actual spaces — room dimensions, acoustics, seating, sightlines, existing cabling and equipment, and how you really use each area. For an existing setup, we audit what's installed and diagnose what's failing. The zone plan, content sources and control approach are decided here.

02

Design & Specify

Brand and model selection (Bose, Dayton Audio, UniFi), speaker layout and counts, the AVR / amplifier / matrix, displays or projection, cabling runs, and the control scheme (app, remote or wall panel) — all specified, with a calibration target, before any kit is ordered.

03

Install & Calibrate

Clean cabling, properly mounted speakers and screens, the rack built and labelled, then the part most installers skip: calibration. Levels, crossovers, room correction and per-zone tuning are dialled in and tested with real content so it sounds and looks right, not just powered on.

04

Maintain Under SLA

Firmware, source updates, drift in calibration and the occasional failed component are covered under a maintenance SLA with a 4-hour response, on the same managed footing as your network. Adding a zone, a source or a screen later is a quick visit, not a re-design.

03 · The Case For Doing It Properly

Why It Matters

Anyone can hang a TV and pair a speaker. The difference between that and a system you actually love living with is design, calibration and someone who answers when it stops working. Here's what proper A/V buys you.

Cinema At Home

A calibrated home theatre — projector or large display, properly placed surround speakers, a subwoofer that hits without rattling the walls — turns movie night into something you can't get from a soundbar. Tuned to the room, not unboxed and hoped for.

Music Everywhere

Distributed audio puts independent zones across the property — kitchen, living, terrace, pool, bedrooms — each with its own source and volume, all from one app. Background music that follows you, without a tangle of portable speakers.

Meetings That Just Work

A conference room where one button drops the screen, powers the display, joins the call and brings up clear mics — no scramble for cables, no "can you hear me now?". Reliable AV makes a business look as sharp as it is.

One Remote, Not Seven

Sources, displays, speakers and zones unified under a single app, remote or wall panel. Family and staff actually use the system because it's simple — not a coffee table littered with remotes nobody understands.

Rescued & Reliable

Inherited a half-finished install, or a system that drops out and nobody will fix? We diagnose the signal chain, correct what's wrong, and put it under maintenance — so the thing you already paid for finally does what it promised.

Maintained, Not Forgotten

Firmware moves, streaming services change, calibration drifts, kit occasionally fails. An SLA with a 4-hour response — on the same managed footing as your network — means it stays working for years, not just on handover day.

04 · When You Need Us

When Is Professional A/V Worth It?

If any of these sound familiar, a designed-and-maintained system will earn its place — usually the first time you actually enjoy using it.

A
You're Building Or RenovatingThe cheapest time to do A/V right is before the walls close. Speaker wiring, screen positions and rack space planned in now save expensive surface-mounted compromises later.
B
You Want A Proper Home TheatreA dedicated cinema room or a media lounge that does justice to films and sport — calibrated surround, the right projector or display, and seating that's actually in the sweet spot.
C
Music Should Be EverywhereYou want the same (or different) music in the kitchen, living room, terrace and pool — controlled from your phone — instead of dragging one speaker around the house.
D
Your Meeting Rooms Are A GambleEvery call starts with ten minutes of cable-hunting and "can you see my screen?". One-touch rooms with reliable displays, mics and video make the business look serious.
E
A School Or Venue Needs CoverageHalls, classrooms, prayer rooms or a multi-purpose space that needs clear, even audio and displays that work every time — designed for the room, not bodged from consumer kit.
F
Someone Left It Half-FinishedA previous contractor disappeared, or the system drops out and no one will own it. We audit the signal chain, fix what's broken, and take responsibility for keeping it running.
G
Too Many Remotes, No ControlFive remotes, three apps and nobody but you can switch it on. We unify it under one simple control layer the whole household or office can actually use.
H
You Want One Team For EverythingNetwork, WiFi, automation and now A/V under one QSN roof — so streaming, control and devices all live on infrastructure we already engineer and support, with no vendor finger-pointing.
05 · Tailored Outcomes

A/V By Environment

A cinema room in a villa, a hall in a school, a boardroom in an office and a multi-zone enterprise estate need very different designs. Here's what QSN delivers across the spaces we serve.

Residential

Villas & Apartments

  • Dedicated home theatre — calibrated surround sound and a projector or large display, tuned to the room for true cinema nights.
  • Multi-room audio — independent music zones across living, kitchen, bedrooms, terrace and pool, all from one app.
  • Media room & lounge — a relaxed second space for sport, gaming and streaming without the full-cinema build.
  • One simple control — the whole home's audio and video on a single remote, app or wall panel anyone can use.
  • On your managed network — streaming and control ride the same QSN-engineered villa Wi-Fi, so nothing buffers or drops.
Education

Schools & Campuses

  • Halls & auditoriums — even, intelligible sound and reliable projection for assemblies, events and presentations.
  • Classroom AV — displays and audio that switch on and work every lesson, with simple, teacher-proof control.
  • Distributed background audio — music and announcements across common areas and grounds via UniFi audio.
  • Multi-building coverage — consistent AV across blocks, centrally managed on one platform.
  • Maintained under SLA — kept working through term time with a fast response when something needs attention.
Workplace

Offices & SMBs

  • One-touch meeting rooms — display, mics, camera and video call that just work when someone walks in.
  • Conference & boardroom AV — clear room audio and screens sized and placed for the space, not guessed.
  • Reception & retail music — controlled background audio that sets the tone, zoned by area.
  • Digital displays — screens for wayfinding, branding or presentations, driven from a central source.
  • One QSN team — AV on the same managed network as your Wi-Fi, voice and security.
Enterprise

Enterprise & Venues

  • Multi-zone, central control — dozens of independent audio and video zones managed from one place.
  • Town-hall & training spaces — large-format displays, distributed audio and video conferencing that scale.
  • Matrix distribution — any source to any screen or zone, switched cleanly across the building.
  • Resilient & serviceable — labelled racks, documented signal chains and an SLA that keeps it all live.
  • Vendor-neutral design — Bose, Dayton Audio or UniFi chosen by the design and the budget, not the brochure.

06 · Brands

Brands We Deploy

We're brand-agnostic by design — the right gear depends on the room, the use and the budget, not loyalty to a logo. These are the lines we build on most, and we integrate the sources, displays and control to match.

BoseProfessional and lifestyle audio — from discreet architectural speakers to commercial systems for retail, hospitality and venues. Clean sound that disappears into the room.
Dayton AudioOutstanding value for distributed audio, in-ceiling and in-wall speakers, amplifiers and subwoofers — the workhorse behind cost-effective multi-room and home-theatre builds.
UniFiNetwork-native audio and streaming that fits the UniFi ecosystem we already deploy — zoned background music and announcements, managed alongside your Wi-Fi and security.
Sources, Displays & ControlAV receivers, matrices, projectors, screens, displays, streamers and the control layer — app, remote or wall panel — that ties every brand into one system.

07 · Questions

Audio Visual FAQ

The questions homes, schools and businesses ask us most about audio-visual, home theatre and media systems.

What does QSN's Audio Visual service actually cover?
We design, install and maintain complete audio-visual systems: home theatres and cinema rooms, media rooms, multi-room / distributed audio (independent music zones around a property), and conference & meeting-room AV (displays, microphones and video calling). We work across villas, apartments, schools, offices, SMBs and enterprises. This is separate from telephone paging — A/V here means music, media and presentation sound and video, not PBX overhead announcements.
Which brands do you work with?
We build most on Bose, Dayton Audio and UniFi audio, and integrate the AV receivers, matrices, projectors, screens, displays, streamers and control panels needed to complete the system. We're brand-agnostic by design — the right gear is chosen from the room, the use and the budget, not brand loyalty.
Can you fix or take over a system someone else installed?
Yes — it's one of the most common things we're called for. We audit the existing signal chain end to end, diagnose what's failing (wiring, configuration, calibration, incompatible or undersized kit), correct it, and then put it under a maintenance arrangement so it stays working. You don't have to rip out what you already paid for — we make it perform.
What is a maintenance SLA, and what does it include?
A Service Level Agreement is an ongoing arrangement to keep your A/V running. It covers firmware and source updates, re-calibration when sound or picture drifts, fault diagnosis, and replacement of failed components, with a 4-hour response target — on the same managed footing as the networks we look after. Instead of a system that's perfect on handover day and forgotten after, it keeps working for years.
Do you handle conference and meeting-room AV as well as home systems?
Yes. We design one-touch meeting and boardrooms — the display, room microphones, camera and video-conferencing platform configured so a call starts cleanly with a single button, no cable-hunting. It's the same engineering discipline as a home theatre, applied to the workplace, and it can sit on the same QSN-managed network as your Wi-Fi and security.
Is it better to plan A/V during a build or renovation?
Far better, and far cheaper. Planning speaker wiring, screen and projector positions, rack space and control during construction avoids surface-mounted compromises and re-work later. That said, plenty of our work is retrofit — we route discreetly and use wireless and network-based audio where pulling cable isn't practical, so an existing home or office can still be done cleanly.
